I have committed to walking more. Today was the first step.
I set out just to take a walk. No expectations. No goals. Just a walk.
Here’s what I’ve learned and experienced;
- 2.38 miles turned out to be easier than expected.
- I’m suspicious it was more enjoyable because it was designated alone time.
- I listened to an entire podcast episode – a rarity!
- The pain I experience when I walk might be due to trying to keep up with the person I’m walking with. The big steps cause hyperextension in my knees.
- My lower back started to hurt, so I focused on tilting my pelvis to release tension – it worked.
- The cold wind and mist was perfect for bundling up AND avoiding any neighbors while out.
When I returned home, I wanted to drink water (another rarity!) and I prepared a big salad before showering.
I feel rested and relaxed. Also, a rarity. This is a habit I would like to build..
