LEA WEST

Lea. As in “Lee.”

I feel embarrassed and ashamed of how far I let my body go. I know the right things to do and I could coach someone one on all the things they need to do to regain their health. Why can’t I apply the same principals to myself?

Short answer: I need to feel like I’m worth it.

I also need to stop the pursuit of things that are comfortable for me; working in my brain and learning. Sitting in my own skin brings a level of discomfort that I cannot describe.

A healthy sense of self and a healthy life will provide me the permission to exist – to unapologetically take up space.

**This is part of a series that uses “beautiful you – a daily guide to Radical Self-Acceptance” by Rosie Molinary as a model for prompts to look inward. Here’s why.**
